Kazuyoshi Hori, Ph.D., Director Takashi Mukuno, Director Naoyuki Ono, Director Minoru Takada, Director Kazuhisa Tsuruta, Ph.D., Director Board of Directors Kazuhisa Tsuruta, Ph.D., Director Kazuhisa Tsuruta, Ph.D. is the Chief Scientific Officer of Asahi Kasei Pharma America (AKPA), and is responsible for the overall development strategy for Asahi Kasei Pharma's Recomodulin (code name ART-123) outside of Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea. Asahi Kasei Pharma (AKP) is the parent company of AKPA. Prior to AKPA, Dr. Tsuruta was the General Manager of Global Clinical Development for AKP, and was the lead project manager for all clinical projects conducted by AKP outside Japan from 2008 to 2011. He headed up AKP's clinical pharmacology from 2003 until 2008, and it was in this capacity that he distinguished himself as one of two key personnel instrumental in the Japanese Phase 3 development, and subsequent regulatory filing and approval of Recomodulin. Dr. Tsuruta has served in various capacities as a researcher in AKP, most notably in pharmacokinetics where he helped create a novel system to screen new compounds. Dr. Tsuruta received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science of Kyushu University.
